Have you ever prayed for something in your life where you asked God to give you something you desired, such as friendship, a job, a relationship, and so on?
It is best to always live according to the WILL of God in our lives and know what God wants us to do. God always wants the best for us than we can imagine instead of following our desire.
Understanding the purpose of God in our lives by getting to know God more will also help us to discern when the devil comes to prevent us from reaching our destiny God has intended for us in our lives with the help of the Holy Spirit.
And these are the following questions you'll need to ask yourself to know if something is a Counterfeit or God-sent.
Does it align with God's word?
Does it bring peace and not confusion?
Spend more time with God.
The only way to know God is to spend more time with Him. As we get closer to God, He will reveal himself to us, and we'll become more confident. And this will help us to discern between God vs the counterfeit.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, yousinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." - James 4:8 (NKJV).
Test it by the spirit.
As you know, the enemy (satan) copied and pasted everything from God. The only thing he cannot do is to CREATE.
One of the great examples is when satan tempted Adam and Eve in the garden. He presented them with an offer that looked very good. Unfortunately, it was destructive (Read Genesis 3). We have to make sure anything that comes into our lives aligns with the truth of God.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." - John 10:10 (NKJV).
"And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light." - 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV).
One thing to remember:
What comes from God will always come with confirmation and peace. What comes from satan will always come with confusion and lead you to destruction.
&
When God wants to bless you, He sends people into your life.
When the devil wants to destroy you, he sends people too!
"For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints." 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV).
Pray and be Discern.
